Carosello 3000 – Livigno is redesigning one of its most iconic trails. Right in the heart of the 1816 Bike Zone, one of the bike area's historic lines is returning with a contemporary design, crafted to elevate the riding level without sacrificing accessibility and fun.
Some trails you ride just once, and others that truly stay with you. The H-Dream trail on the Carosello 3000 slope in Livigno is definitely one of the latter—a line born to pick up speed, read berms, pump through rollers, and let your wheels leave the ground for just a brief moment.
4.2 km long, with 385 meters of negative elevation gain and an average gradient of 9%. The H-Dream trail (also known as Hutr) is one of the first trails built at Carosello 3000 and, for ten years now, one of the most loved by those looking for flow, sweeping turns, and that ideal margin of air-time that turns a descent into a sequence of rhythm and control. A line that made the history of the bike area. And that is precisely where it all begins again.

What’s Changing
now, H-Dream is back in a completely revamped version. Redesigned lines, rebuilt rollers and jumps, updated berms, new features along the track, and major work on the base layer and water drainage. This is not simple maintenance, but a true reinterpretation of the trail: faster and smoother, yet also more accessible and built to last over time.
Its character, however, remains the same. H-Dream is still a red flow trail of intermediate difficulty, capable of speaking to riders with very different skill sets. Those who want to let their bike run will find rhythm and air-time; those who prefer a more controlled ride can enjoy a progressive descent that is never excessive, yet always physical and fun. The rollers are there for anyone wanting to lift their wheels off the ground—nobody forces you to jump them, but sooner or later, the temptation kicks in.
Behind the Reshaping The work took nearly twenty days. First came the milling process to grind down the material already present on the trail, creating a more compact and stable base while avoiding the need to bring non-native soil up to the altitude. Next came the excavator to completely redesign lines, compressions, rollers, jumps, and berms from scratch. Finally, the most artisanal part: manual packing, finishing, and line reading of the details—the touch that makes the difference between a trail that is simply "built" and one that truly flows.
The intervention was signed off by the Carosello 3000 trail builders, led by Ghentian Goci, alongside operators from Mountain Bike Movement, an Austrian agency specialized in MTB destination planning and the construction and maintenance of trails and bike parks. Founded by Daniel Tulla, the company has designed projects over the years in some of the most renowned bike destinations across the Alpine arc and beyond, from Bikepark Innsbruck to Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, passing through Ischgl and Nauders.
IMBA Italia also took part in the design and construction work, having partnered with Carosello 3000 for the past two years to provide technical consulting, trail builder training, and support for the growth of the bike product. This collaboration brings specific expertise to the bike area regarding trail design, sustainability, drainage, safety, maintenance, and riding quality.
"We have adapted H-Dream—one of Carosello 3000’s historic lines, which already featured a very interesting trail design despite its ten-year age—to a more modern concept" says Luca Bortolotti of IMBA Italia, who was present on-site during the work. "We started right from the DNA of this trail, which is ride enjoyment, to make it as modern and accessible as possible."
Beyond the Trail
The new H-Dream is not an isolated intervention, but a piece of a broader strategy: the one through which Carosello 3000 is relaunching its bike identity and, more generally, Livigno's summer positioning as a premier MTB destination. A direction that takes shape in the Livigno | 1816 Bike Zone project: not just a brand, but a clearer and more recognizable way of telling the story of the resort's bike ecosystem, made up of trails, services, lifts, hospitality, training, and high-altitude sporting culture.
Because in Livigno, cycling is not just an add-on product to the mountain: it is part of how the area experiences movement, performance, and its connection with the territory. The 1816 meters are not just an altitude. They are a riding condition, a shift in rhythm, a physical and mental threshold that makes the saddle experience entirely different.
"The redesign of H-Dream also tells the story of the path that Carosello 3000 wants to follow," explains Stefano Cusini, General Manager of Carosello 3000. "In recent years we have heavily invested in both our winter and summer products, aiming to build an increasingly modern and complete mountain resort. For us, mountain biking is one of the main assets of the summer season: it doesn't just mean opening trails, but working on line quality, maintenance, safety, the training of our trail builders, and the ability to offer Livigno's guests an increasingly curated and contemporary experience."
With the new H-Dream, Carosello 3000 places one of its most representative lines back at the center. Without distorting its character, but bringing it up to date with a more modern and evolved riding style.
